How the outfit checker scores
An impartial judge reads the photo first and scores four things on one scale for everyone: the fit, the colour chemistry, the overall vibe and the details. The overall is the average, in half points. Only then does a second pass write the verdict, what works and what to change in the tone you picked. That is why a roast and a sweet take of the same fit carry the same number.
What the four sub-scores mean
- The fit is how the clothes sit on you: length, proportion, where things end and how the layers stack. A great fit can carry ordinary pieces; a bad one sinks expensive ones.
- Color chemistry is whether the palette holds together: two or three colours that agree, one accent at most, and shoes and bag that do not fight the rest.
- Overall vibe asks whether the outfit reads as one idea. Streetwear, clean minimal, dressed up, cosy: any of them scores well when every piece is on the same page.
- The details are the finish: the shoes, the belt, the sock line, the jewelry, the tuck, the sleeve. They rarely make the score, and they decide a lot of them.
What separates a 6 from an 8
A 6 is a fine outfit with one thing off: a hem that lands in the wrong place, a fourth colour, shoes from a different occasion. It gets you through the day. An 8 has nothing off and one thing right on purpose: a colour echo, a proportion that flatters, a detail someone will notice. A 9 or a 10 is rare and earns a stamp; the app draws one from a small pool (Certified, Served, Iconic and a few others) so a great fit gets its moment.
How the tones differ
Sweet, Soft, Real, Spicy, Roast: five levels of the same honest read. Sweet leads with what works and softens the changes. Real says it plainly. Roast is a playful dressing-down of the outfit with the same three fixes hidden inside the jokes. It roasts the fit, never the person: the judge is told to score clothes and styling only, never bodies, faces or anything about who you are.
Privacy, mechanically
Nothing leaves your browser until you tap Rate my fit. The photo is shrunk on your device, sent once over an encrypted connection, analyzed in memory by OpenAI to write the rating, and discarded. We keep a row with the score and an anonymous visitor id so your one free rating a day can be counted; no photo, no name, no account. The camera runs in your browser and never records. If you would rather keep a history, the app stores your fits privately in a diary you can wipe anytime.
